Introduction
Named after the blue super giant star, the Mionix Naos 3200 has been designed as an ergonomic gaming mouse. As you can easily assume from the product name, this version of the Naos boasts an accurate 3200 dpi sensor, a popular choice in the mid-range gaming mouse market. Other key features include a customizable LED system and a built-in memory for saving mouse settings and macros.
We’ve not reviewed any of Mionix’s products before, so we’re not sure what to expect. However, after quickly googling ‘Mionix Naos 3200′ it’s already clear to see a lot of hype and anticipation surrounds this mouse. Anyway, let us not rant anymore, introducing the Mionix Naos 3200 gaming mouse…

The Package
The Mionix Naos 3200 comes packed in a suitably styled neon green and black box. Adorning the front of the box is an image of the mouse itself whilst the rear contains detailed features and specifications.
Unfolding the lid of the box reveals the Naos 3200 vacuum packed in the centre with a small introduction titled, ‘A Star Has Been Born’, on the inside lid. This is an interesting method of presenting a gaming mouse, it’s as though your revealing a piece of weaponry, perhaps you are.
After dismantling the box, all that is included with the Naos is a small leaflet giving installation, customization and warranty advice. You are required to download the driver software and manual from Mionix’s website. I suppose this saves a few trees. The Mionix Naos 3200
The Naos 3200 is a rather bland looking right-handed mouse. Completely black in colour and offering a rubber coating, at first glance it isn’t anything special. What certainly isn’t standard though is the width of it. Most mice don’t include a placement for resting your ring and baby finger, however, the Mionix includes an extra ‘bulge’ so that all fingers have a place. In concept this is an excellent idea in both ergonomic and performance terms. It means all fingers are situated on the mouse, therefore avoiding the usual scenario where your baby finger and ring finger are crunched up between mouse and desk.
Mounted beneath the scroll wheel and Mionix emblem (which situates on the palm rest) are LED’s to illuminate the mouse. The colour of these LED’s are controllable. These LED’s are what set the mouse off from otherwise looking bland and boring, what I described it as earlier.
Being a right-handed mouse there are two buttons located on the left-side of the Naos 3200. These buttons can be configured within the software to perform a certain key press, mouse command or macro. The default is back and forwards, useful for web browsing.
Also customizable are the buttons atop the mouse. There are the standard right, left and scroll wheel buttons but also a further two behind the scroll wheel. These can be used to adjust the DPI setting simultaneously whilst playing a game.
The base of the Mionix Naos 3200 reveals four slippery feet and a 3200 DPI optical sensor.
Powering the mouse is a gold-plated USB2 connector for a more consistent connection.
