Before I removed the Jabra Drive from the box, I was quite skeptical as to whether or not it would have the power to allow for a crisp and clear conversation, due to it’s small design. However, once removed from the box, I noticed that, although it’s small and light, it’s not flimsy or in anyway cheap and tacky.
Included inside the box you also receive a car charger that features a separate USB lead so that charging can also be performed when near a computer. An easy to follow set of instructions is also included. So lets see how this device stands in the harshest environment I could find, my car.
The basic design of the Jabra Drive consists of a black speaker fixed to a big clip, essentially. Saying that, it feels very sturdy and it weighs next to nothing so this design works very well.
It has three buttons, one switch and the charging socket. The volume up / down buttons are located on the front, at the top. The answer / disconnect button is the entire speaker face, which makes answering and ending calls very easy indeed.
The power switch is located on the right side of the device just above the charging socket.
On the front, towards the top of the speaker, there is also a flashing LED to show whether the device is connected and switched on.
Overall, the Jabra Drive is a great device for its price range.
Whilst I managed to hold a conversation without any difficulty, I did find the volume to be a little too quiet at times. The flashing LED on the front annoyed me slightly whilst driving along at night, but then again, there’s quite a few flashing lights in most cars anyway so that’s probably just me.
For the price, around £50, you can’t really go wrong at the end of the day. Jabra products have always been of the highest quality possible and never fail to work when needed.
I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it definitely shouldn’t be over looked when considering your options.
